Today is Burns Night when in Scotland the birth of the Scottish Bard is celebrated on his Birthday, January 25th.
Having Scottish roots and relatives it is a tradition which we carry on in our house and for dinner tonight we will be eating Haggis, Neeps & Tatties (English translation Haggis, swede and potatoes!) For the adults a dram of whiskey!
As some of you know from reading by previous postings we go to the Highlands each year for our holidays and see friends up there and here is my favourite poem of Burn's :
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birthplace of Valour, the country of worth!
Wherever I wander, whever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
